 Cash Advance Pro 5.7 — 20-June-2019

This update is for version 5.5 or newer and requires updating the database server first.  Use update program UpdNxServer3112412.exe to update the database server.

1.  Many of the components for user input of numbers, currency, and dates have been changed in order to support a newer compiler.  Such was necessary to support third party State databases managed by Veritec in States like Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, Oklahoma and Alabama.

2.  Veritec is mandating more modern security interface when connecting to their system.  Previously we used TLS 1.1.  Now in this update we use TLS 1.2.

3.  Fixed an issue on Collections New Parameters screen. The Area Manager value was getting reset when exiting the store number field.

4.  Changed ACH file for Advantage ACH users to have a 28 field format.

5.  Added Pack Database option to the main menu (under File / System Options / Repair Options / Pack Database Tables).  Also, Cash Advance Pro will now detect automatically on startup an incompatibility problem from a Windows Update and attempt to correct the problem automatically.

6.  Added a new pipeline to Forms and Letters called qLnList which lists the loans done during the last 63 days (or last # days set in Profile Settings ID 205).  By default this pipeline is disabled by setting Profile ID 205 to 0 (zero).

7.  Added ability to customize loan parameters based upon a setting in Profile Settings ID #206, Auto Contract Option.  This option is of interest primarily to customers in Ontario, Canada.

8.  Fixed a problem with Profile ID 139, EOD Max Sessions, which was not blocking End of Day properly in Ver 5.7 when other client sessions existed.

9.  Changed some ways date edits happened for some dates, like Statement Dates, when they are zero or not set, to be cleared in the database when they were set to Julian Date Zero.

10.  Added a way to assess late fees using the End Date instead of the Next Due Date.  Set Late Fee Flag (Profile ID #126) to ‘E’ for this to work.  This was added for clients in Ontario.

11.  Fixed an issue where certain transactions were putting a time on the Next Due Date, causing the delinquency reports for some customers to be off a day.

12.  Fixed an issue where the Promise Date not being cleared on the Database Field when the check mark on the Promise Date Edit box was not checked.  This caused 12/30/1899 dates to show in the collection grid.  Now the grid will be clear in the Promise Date column when the checkbox is unchecked.

13.  Changed the way the Promise Date and Promise Time fields get set.  The Promise Time field will share use of the Check Box for clearing purposes.

14.  Changed default settings file to ignore fields that are null (not set).

15.  Changed general exceptions file to handle some common exceptions in a better way.

16.  Added feature to Bad Check so if user enters character text instead of a number, the search customer by last name form will come up automatically.

17.  Fixed an issue with pay period NthDayOfWeekInMonth that was causing an error when profile settings allowed Monthly Date Drift and only with certain dates.

18.  Changed description of payment card transactions from Credit Card to Debit Card because some States outlawing Credit Card use to pay off loans.

21.  Made some changes to the way unexpected errors are reported.

22.  Changed the way the backup system in Cash Advance Pro handles default paths.

27.  Changed the way Renewals set Late Fees. Previously Late Fee Settings were reset to match profile settings.  Now they keep the same settings as the original loan.

28.  Fixed an access violation that happened when exiting the application. The error happened on some systems if several reports from different areas of the program were run and when the program was exited, the error appeared.

29.  Updated the Help File.

Cash Advance Pro 5.6 — 6-December-2017

This update is for version 5.5 or newer.

1. Added Teletrack support using their XML method. Previously the software used their Cougar IP segment interface.

2. Removed legacy options for check verification.

3. Made numerous Veritec enhancements for users in the State of Kentucky. Cash Advance Pro will attempt to track dates locally for instructions to given by Cash Advance Pro to the State database. The fields being tracked include the OpenDate, AutoCloseHoldDate, DepositDate, CloseDate, Bad Check Return Date, Redeposit Date, Reopen Date, and WriteOff Date. Veritec does not allow us to query their database, so this tracking could get off if users make changes to the State database using the Veritec website.

4. Added a feature for Kentucky users accessed at the View Loans screen by right clicking on the loan record. An option will now appear, “Batch Process Auto Close Holds in State DB.” This option will list all delinquent active loans where both Auto Close Hold Date and Close Date has not been recorded. Users can then highlight the loans they want to place on auto close hold and process all of them with a single click to be placed into auto close hold in the Veritec State database. Note that this feature will not pull up loans opened prior to this update.

5. Added a feature for Kentucky users to Batch Process Closures in State Database. This check can be setup to operate when End of Day processing is selected as a kind of popup window if such loans exist.

6. Modified how Bad Check cash payments are handled in updating the Veritec State database in all supported States. Now the transaction in the State Database will be closed if there is no balance left on principal and finance fees. So even if the bad check is still active because of a balance from NSF fees or other fees, it will be closed in the State Database managed by Veritec. Previously the transaction was closed in the State database only if there was no balance left on the bad check record and the status showed paid off.

7. Fixed an issue where under certain conditions an error was generated when trying to update the Veritec database while redepositing a bad check.

8. Changed behavior for Money Orders to act like Checks and EFT instead of Cash when updating the Veritec database.

9. Added additional functions to report loan transactions to Teletrack database.

10. Added feature to send email and text alerts to customers when their payment is due or when their payments are late.

11. Added ability to set Late Fee Amount based on LoanAmt entered as long as user goes to 2nd screen (More Options / Title Loans Screen).

12. Added StoreNo and LastChgDate fields to ID table to facilitate Merge utility. Added LastChgDate field to Docs table for same reason.

13. Fixed a problem where the Default Settings overrides were not properly updating the LateFeeMin settings under certain circumstances.

14. Added security for access to Default Settings button on the New Loan form.

15. Added check box for bad check payments in Kentucky to allow user to decide whether or not to update the deposit date in Veritec.

16. Added security to Default Settings button on New Loan screen. Now only level 99 is allowed into that area of the program.

17. Updated the Help file.

Cash Advance Pro 5.5 — 24-March-2017

This update is for version 5.4 or newer. This update should be done after End of Day processing before any transactions are posted or there may be a problem reversing transactions done prior to the update.

Versions 5.3x uses an older version of the Database Server (nxServer) and these systems might be updated directly to 5.5 depending on how nxServer is installed. If updating from 5.3x, it is recommended to stop nxServer first by looking for it in the system tray, right click and choose exit. If version 5.3x of nxServer is installed as a service, then stop it (Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services / Look for NexusDB Server) and uninstall it first. After the update is finished, install the new version of nxServer as a service by running nxServerInstall.bat. Alternatively, use the update package called UpdateCashAdvancePro55-NoSvc.exe which will install the new Database Server, nxServer.exe, as a service automatically after completion. All future versions from 5.4 onward expect to have nxServer installed as a service.

5. Added feature to popup alerts when customer name is clicked. This feature must be turned on in Profile Settings, ID #192.

6. Added a data import feature to the File menu for customers who have purchased a customized import utility.

Also changed the date format that is inserted automatically into file names. Also added more hint tips on this window and expanded the help topic.

36. Added a way to override the APR representation on certain contracts to use a less accurate APR calculation for a Nevada auditor. To implement this override, edit Profile Setting #108, APR Method, to have a P as the second character. For example, setting APR Method to EP would cause the override to take place. This second APR method uses the Actuarial method which compounds interest, paying interest upon interest earned. It also rounds the number of periods in a year to whole numbers leading to less accurate results. Some auditors, however, require it for the audit tools that they use. Without the P, the APR calculation will be based on the U.S. Rule method for simple interest rather than compounding interest.

37. Fixed a problem with the Work Event Log where the wrong posting date would post if the window was open while posting a transaction with a different posting date.

Cash Advance Pro 5.2 — 5-29-09

This update package will convert version 5.1 or newer. Version 5.2 is not backward compatible with earlier versions, so companies with multiple stores that regularly do remote connections should plan their updates accordingly. This update will replace the receipts and most of the report files, so if you have customized any of them, please be sure to back them up. If you are updating from a version prior to 5.1, your customized contracts may require our assistance to make them work with this update.

1. Added a new interest calculation method to the Interest Chart called Incremental Method. This method allows calculation of interest and loan fees based upon the percentage indicated by intervals on the interest chart.
2. Fixed a problem where right clicking in certain windows caused the same menu to appear again after choosing a selection.
3. Made an error message more clear concerning a problem when the nxServer has its ServerInfo Plugin disabled.
4. Added the ability to tie images and documents to a transaction record. This is helpful for check cashers to store a scanned image of checks cashed.
5. Added feature to have the maximum percent rule, Profile Setting ID # 53, block bad check fees entered on the Bad Check screen that would violate the rule.
6. Added ability to set a loan fee maximum value, Profile Setting ID #147.
7. Added feature for installment loans that are very delinquent to default payment to the number of payments due times the regular payment amount.
8. Add ability to view all bad check balances owed, including charged-off bad checks, on Loan Detail screen and on Customer Statistics screen.
9. Updated the underlying database server to version 2.08.03, which increases speed and efficiency and also fixes a number of problems reported over the last year.
10. The APR Calculator unit has been significantly changed for installment loans which results in much closer APR estimates when compared with the treasury department’s APRWin software.
11. Added loan fee to the Amortization Schedule report under Forms and Letters.
12. Changed the way loan fees are assessed on installment loans. Now instead of applying the entire loan fee on the first payment, it is spread out over the entire loan.
13. Changed the way interest is entered on installment loans. Now instead of entering the simple annual interest rate, the estimated target APR is entered.
14. Fixed a problem in Change Loan Status transaction that under certain conditions was not reducing the customer record field for outstanding loan amount. This caused a problem when new loans were created and there were credit limit restrictions or profile settings which might prohibit additional loans.
15. Added feature to set whether or not monthly payment dates will drift toward the least day of the month or instead maintain the day of the month indicated by the first payment date. The default setting is to let the date drift, so that if the first payment date is on the 31st, and the next payment month has only 30 days, subsequent payment dates will stay on 30. Profile ID # 148 now can be changed to N so that monthly date drifts are not allowed.
16. Added security level for charge-offs and void transactions for both loans and bad checks. See Profile ID # 149.
17. Fixed a problem which generated an error message that would appear if the Operating Summary Options report list was run and then the user came back to run a single report.
18. Added ability to change bank sort by fields under Edit / Banks.
19. Fixed a problem on transaction reversals for those using a database with data merged together from different stores. In certain circumstances, an attempt to reverse a transaction might have given an error message indicating that the customer information could not be reversed and the reverasal process was aborted.
20. Changed ACH upload file names to have the file name formatted with the date as MMDD instead of YYMMDD and also suffixed with the first letter of the database alias.
21. Added ability to upload ACH files automatically using CoreFTP utility program.
22. Added help menu item to make relaxing security for viewing help files across the network easier.
23. For control reasons, after End of Day processing, users now will be forced to login again.
24. Added ability to e-mail ACH confirmation e-mails automatically during End of Day processing.
25. Fixed a problem where the first transaction number recorded for the End of Day Summary was not being set properly when End of Day processing had no transactions to process.
26. Fixed a problem with an error message given when refinancing a loan.
27. Fixed a problem with an error message given when Security Item Selection had been disabled in Profile Settings, or when Ask Program Name had been enabled in Profile Settings.
28. Added two new rows to second page of End of Day Operating Summary to reflect ACH Credits and Debits (Daily, MTD, & YTD).
29. Changed the behavior of paydowns when bad checks are due. System will now allow paying down a loan with a bad check. However, system will warn the user that this is not normally done and ask for confirmation that this is desired.
30. Changed the way rounding was done during paydown for certain conditions where a partial credit exists on a loan. Previously the way the AmtFwd field was being rounded led to slight negative interests due immediately after posting a payment under certain conditions where less than the daily interest amount was due and a significant amount of the principal was being paid down.
31. Fixed a mislabel on the transaction detail screen where a renewed loan transaction was mislabeling late fees as lien fees.
32. Added additional fields to the work log to show time started, time ended, total time, and last change date.
33. Added ability to filter Work Events by LoanNo on the View Loans screen.
34. Fixed alignment problems with the first three reports under forms and letters which were misprinting under certain situations.
35. Changed the way late fees paid and late fee waivers accumulate on renewals. Prior to this update, the design was to cumulate this field on subsequent renewals so that the most recent loan contained the total late fees paid and waived since the original loan was done. However, this had a negative effect on reports that attempted to cumulate values for the various loans. Therefore, this update no longer maintains this cumulative aspect. Each loan now reflects only late fees for it and not for prior loans.
36. Repositioned the late fees paid and nr transaction statistics on the customer statistics screen.
37. Updated the help file.

Cash Advance Pro 5.1 — 12-4-08
This update package will convert version 5.00 or newer. Version 5.1 is NOT backward compatible with the data files from prior versions of Cash Advance Pro. If you connect remotely to other stores or use the Merge Utility, plan updates among all your stores with these incompatibility issues in mind. Also, this update will replace most of the report files, and your customized contracts may require our assistance to make them work with this update. It would be good to coordinate your update plans with us so we can assist immediately with any unforeseen issues. This update is an important update in regards to some of the fixes mentioned below. Also, a number of new features have been added to the software with this version.

1. Fixed a problem in Paydown where a rounding issue caused interest to sometimes report negative interest cents due immediately after posting a payment. The issue only happened when all the interest was paid down and some of the principal was paid. The issue also sometimes caused the Paid-To-Date to be one day less than the current system date with almost a full days AmtFwd credit when the date should have advanced fully. The rounding error has now been corrected.
2. Fixed a problem when creating a new loan with the first payment date being set ahead. The next due date was not being set to the new first payment date in some situations.
3. Added a sample report template to Forms and Letters for printing an envelope.
4. Added ability to highlight customer records using different colors for foreground or background. This feature is accessed in Edit Customers on the Profile Information tab. It may be used to signify customers on different plans or options.
5. Updated some changes in the ODBC driver for those users accessing the data using Microsoft Office products.
6. Added the ability to print the full employee name on receipts and other reports. This is done through a new custom RAP function called gEmployeeName, which can be used in a Calc Variable to show the name.
7. Added ability to email reports directly from Cash Advance Pro. An email button appears on the report preview screen in the upper left hand corner, next to the printer button. Selecting it brings up an email dialog screen which allows entering an email message to go with the report. Also, a list of reports can be emailed immediately after End of Day processing without any user interaction using the options button under Reports / Operatings Summaries. In order to use the new email feature, email settings must be setup in Store Information (File / System Options / Store Information).
8. Added new setting to Block Multiple Loans option in the Profile Settings. Now setting this to A will block doing another loan if any balance is owed on any other loan.
9. Added feature to check for the number of sessions connected to the server when a user is about to choose End of Day processing. If other computers are connected to the server, the Process End of Day button will be disabled and a message displayed to remind the user to exit Cash Advance Pro on other computers before closing End of Day. This option may be configured or disabled in the Profile Settings using Profile ID # 139. In some situations with multiple databases or remote connections, it may be necessary to increase the EODMaxSessions parameter for this feature to be useful.
10. Added feature to enable Cash Advance Pro to synchronize the time of the computer with the computer hosting the server. If enabled, the time of the computer will be set to match the server computer when Cash Advance Pro is first started. This is helpful in some situations to keep the time stamped on transactions from different workstations in step with each other. This feature is off by default and may be enabled by changing the setting in Profile ID # 140 to ‘S’ for “Synchronize with Server.”
11. Added feature to allow previewing the contract before capturing the signature, then printing the contract with the captured signature.
12. Added Routing Number fields to the Bank Record so that when a bank is selected for a customer, the routing number for that bank will be transferred over to the routing number field of the customer. Also, when adding a bank, the routing number can be formatted from the branch number, institution number, and check digit. For Canadian customers where routing numbers can be formatted two different ways, this can be helpful to get the proper formatting for electronic processing.
13. Added ability for loans with contractual type interest not to charge interest if satisfied within 1 day. Previously this worked only for simple daily interest loans. Set Profile Settings ID # 92 to 1 in order to use.
14. Added some new options to the default Non-Cash Credit Method, Profile Setting ID # 117. Now automatic credits can be given to the first loan for the entire interest due, and the percent discounts also can be set to apply only to the customer’s first loan.
15. Added feature to set the default date on Renewals to the next due date rather than the current system date. See Profile Setting ID #141.
16. Added feature to allow editing the Loan Fee as a percent rather than currency. See Profile Setting ID #142.
17. Added Daily, Month-to-Date, and Year-to-Date figures for Lien Fees to End of Day Transaction Summary.
18. Added new feature that allows restricting the Number of Payments by a Minimum or Maximum based upon security item or loan program selected.
19. Fixed a problem where the navigator bar on Bad Check Transactions was disabled.
20. Added ability to void bad checks for situations where bad checks were entered incorrectly.
21. Added a block for multiple loans if bad checks have been charged-off and Profile ID #63 (Block Multiple Loans) is set to B. Previously only active bad checks would block additional loans when this profile setting was set to B.
22. Added customer fields for employer address, city, state/province, postal code, and phone.
23. Added internet integration with a check verification service (Check A Check).
24. Fixed an issue related to right clicking on selected text not bringing up a menu for copying and pasting the selected text. Earlier versions had this feature, but a bug crept into a compiler update which removed this default feature. A work around has been added to many of the forms to restore this feature.
25. Added ability to edit a loan’s Next Due Date on the More Information Screen under Loan Detail.
26. Updated the help file.

Cash Advance Pro 5.02 — 9-11-08
This update will update version 5.00 or newer. Version 5.02 is backward compatible with the data files in Versions 5.00 & 5.01.

1. Fixed a problem with a new feature added in version 5.0. The problem would happen on systems that were keeping both payday loans and title or installment loans in the same database. If a loan was refinanced and the next loan entered was a payday loan that never entered the more options area, the system was refinancing the loan from the previous transaction again, causing an incorrect contract and cash drawer update. If the problem is noticed, it could be easily reversed. The problem has now been corrected in 5.02.
2. Changed the way non-cash credits were being handled in paydown transactions. Previously the Interest Due field (IntDue) on active loans was being updated to include the total interest due at posting. Now, if a non-cash credit is being applied toward interest, it is not added into the IntDue field. Other areas of the software that report total interest charges will add in the NCashCreditApplied field to get the total interest charges.
3. An update utility program, UpdAuto.exe, was updated to track version numbers in order to flag one time only changes that are needed in an update, such as decreasing the IntDue field by the NCashCreditApplied field.
4. A change in 5.01 created an balance issue on satisfied loans for some customers that were heavily using the non-cash credit option. This update includes a fix that should correct that problem.
5. Added a security level for Adjust Drawer option on the Cash Drawer screen. Set security level in Profile Settings, ID# 137.
6. Added a security level for Check Cashing. Set security level in Profile Settings, ID# 138.
7. Added new feature when refinancing a loan. Now the title information will be copied over after selecting the loan to refinance.
8. Added ability for the Loan Fee edit box in the more options area to be disabled.
9. Fixed a problem where single payment loans were not having the end date set correctly if only the effective date was changed after the next due date was changed.
10. Updated help file.

Cash Advance Pro 5.01 — 8-18-08
Version 5.01 primarily fixes issues and is backward compatible with the data files and reports in Version 5.00.

1. Fixed problem with Customer Reports when using the exclusion of Mail Code feature. If no Mail Code was entered at all on the customer record, it was being excluded from the reports. Now records without any mail code entered will be included.
2. Fixed a problem with the balance calculation on certain closed loans. In certain conditions, loans which were previously receiving a non-cash adjustment while the loan was active were then receiving another reduction for non-cash credits applied toward interest when the loans were moved to a closed account status.
3. Fixed a problem with the work event log when run from networked stations. Also made the work event log more friendly in allowing the closing of the View Loans window that started it.
4. Fixed a problem where the transaction detail screen was showing the reverse condition of a bad check transaction for the field that indicated whether the bad check was returned from bank.
5. Changed the Bad Check Letter form in Forms and Letters to read, “Returned Check Letter.”
6. Fixed a problem where the Bank Account Type was not being saved if the user typed the selection instead of clicked on the selection.
7. Changed View Loans window behavior when the form is maximized to expand the work events grid rather than the customer grid.
8. Fixed a problem where deleting a work event and then adding another one right away gave an error message and presented an improper form.
9. Fixed a problem with reversing transactions when the customer record came from another store number.
10. Fixed an error message during EOD processing under certain situations.
11. Changed the way system handles logging in a non-existing store number during remote connections. Now the system will notify the user of the error and revert to the first store number setup in the system.
12. Added support to change store number option for work log and default security file changes. Enhanced error reporting in change store number.
13. Added ability in profile settings for a loan fee method which deducts interest from a calculated loan fee in the final result.
14. Added ability in profile settings to have the pay down principal on renewals be only a default amount that may be decreased rather than a forced minimum amount required to pay toward principal.
15. Changed receipt templates for paydowns that are actively accruing interest. Now a balance is shown only when printed on the same day as the transaction, and the accruing daily interest amount also is indicated.
16. Enhanced the warning message when MaxFees percent is exceeded to give more information. Also enabled warning to show on the paydown screen in addition to the renewal and satisfied screens.
17. Fixed problem where date column was not showing on File / System Options / Repair Options / Delete Operating Summary.
18. Fixed problem where create default security file was giving an error message when the file did not exist.
19. Fixed problem with remote connections where in certain situations the remote server was being saved as the default server configuration.
20. Added ability for Renewals to set a default loan fee based upon the percentage of loan fee to principal remaining. See profile setting for Profile ID #136.
21. Updated help file.

Cash Advance Pro 5.0 — 7-25-08
Version 5.0 is a major upgrade over the 4.x versions of Cash Advance Pro. The database server software has been changed to NexusDB and the Report Builder components have been upgraded significantly. This update is actually more like a conversion and requires scheduling with our office to ensure a smooth transition to the new software. Users need to have updated their Cash Advance Pro system to version 4.92 prior to updating to version 5.0. If the end user has any customized forms and reports, these will require special attention to convert them over for use by version 5.0. Some of the new features in version 5.0 are as follows:

1. Support for signature capture of customers has been added.
2. Support for saving photographs of customers and security items has been added.
3. Improved speed and performance with the database.
4. Numerous improvements to Report Builder.
5. Improved support for Windows Vista. Forms will be less likely to hide behind other forms in this version.
6. Added ability to refinance installment loans.
7. Added ability for product registration via the internet.
8. Updated help file.

Cash Advance Pro 4.92 — 12-3-07
Note: Updates Version 4.00 or higher to 4.92.

Update after processing End of Day before the first transaction of the next day of business. Always backup before updating. If your current version is 4.8x or earlier, this update will change the structure of several files. Version 4.92 is not compatible with version 4.8x or earlier, so if you have multiple locations or multiple client programs which connect to each other’s database, and you are currently on a version of 4.8x or earlier, plan to upgrade them all at the same time. If you are using version 4.90, the file system is the same and so the various locations do not need to be updated at the same time. If you customize your reports, you should back them up before updating. This update will overwrite all of the standard reports. It will not change your contract but it will change your receipt templates.

1. Added a feature to allow assessing the late fee automatically only once. Set Profile Setting 126 to 1 to enable this feature.
2. Added ability to adjust late fees on loans without automatic late fees.
3. Fixed a problem in Paydown: loans that were first due on the 31st of the month were not having their balances calculated.
4. Fixed a problem with two loan reports (All Loans Outstanding) that were not eliminating loans outside the date range for active loans.
5. Under forms and letters, the “Loan Transaction History” and “Loan Payment History” reports were modified to show more information about the loan, including a break down of the totals that go into the balance due, the work log, and the customer’s note and memo information.
6. Fixed a problem where bad checks were not having a store number assigned to the record under certain circumstances.
7. Added the ability to print contract supplements automatically when a new loan is created. This can be setup under Profile Settings by selecting “Setup Contract List.”
8. Fixed a problem on the New Loan screen – if a loan fee was entered using the calculator, under certain circumstances the totals were not being updated properly.
9. Added the ability to enter a bank statement date and statement expiration days to the New Customer Quick Add screen.
10. Added high security option for Profile Setting ID #62, Block Date Change. Now entering an H for this setting allows only the highest security level (99) to change dates of transactions.
11. Added a block in forms and letters for when a bad check letter is being printed but the transaction selected does not pertain to a bad check. This was causing some confusion to users who mistakenly did not select an appropriate transaction.
12. Added new profile setting, ID #127, to allow changing the behavior of the default NxDue date for paydowns.
13. Added Bank Stmt Date field to customer quick add form.
14. Fixed a problem with the storeno not being set on Bad Check Records.
15. Fixed a problem with using the calculator on the loan fee for new loans.
16. Fixed a problem with paydowns where the interest amount was set to the contractual amount if the stop interest button was checked. Now the interest will be calculated up to the posting date and stopped at that amount.
17. Fixed a problem using the Recalc Fees option on Satisfy Loan for when the interest type was contractual type and the posting date was changed. The problem resulted in a receipt showing an incorrect previous balance based upon the new posting date entered.
18. Fixed a problem where the software was reporting a late fee waiver when the system itself was automatically reducing the late fees due because of the maximum fees rule forcing the fee reduction. This resulted in a receipt balance showing a negative amount, which now has been fixed to report properly.
19. Changed the way charging off bad checks affects the associated loan balance. Now charging off a bad check will cause the associated loan balance not to reflect the bad check.
20. Added the ability to clear the loan number field on bad check entries so that bad checks for other loans not yet entered in the system can be entered. This is meant to help new customers who do not want to enter past loans with bad debts from their previous software.
21. Changed the way the bad check fields populate based upon the transaction selected to accomodate more types of transactions.
22. Changed the sort order of the transaction history and payment history reports to be ascending in the Forms and Letters area. This allows calculations to be performed for items such as principal due based upon the pmts received.
23. Updated the help file.

Cash Advance Pro 4.91 — 8-4-07
Note: Updates Version 4.00 or higher to 4.91.
Update after processing End of Day before the first transaction of the next day of business. Always backup before updating. If your current version is 4.8x or earlier, this update will change the structure of several files. Version 4.91 is not compatible with version 4.8x or earlier, so if you have multiple locations or multiple client programs which connect to each other’s database, and you are currently on a version of 4.8x or earlier, plan to upgrade them all at the same time. If you are using version 4.90, the file system is the same and so the various locations do not need to be updated at the same time. If you customize your reports, you should back them up before updating. This update will overwrite all of the standard reports. It will not change your contract but it will change your receipt templates.

1. Fixed a problem with bad check queries. The update program has been fixed to set the customer store number on bad check records. This fixed a problem with querying bad check records on some systems.
2. Fixed a problem with Voided Loan Report pulling up Difficult loans with the Voided Loans.
3. Fixed a problem in the More Options area when creating a new loan where exiting the Days In Period box was not updating the displayed figures properly.
4. Changed the More Options area for installment loans to reflect the APR as the entered Annual Interest Rate if a loan fee is not entered. This will create less questions about why the APR differs slightly from the target Annual Interest Rate entered. Mathematically, the slight differences are not significant and yield the same monetary calculations.
5. Changed some logic in the new APR calculator to work better with entering a first payment date. Now the APR calculator inside Cash Advance Pro matches APRWin even better. See the help topic APR Calculation for more information.
6. Fixed a problem happening when automatic operating summaries were being printed during end of day. Under certain situations an access violation was occurring.
7. Removed transaction reversals from the default Transactions by Transaction Type report located under operating summaries, and added a new report that includes reversals.
8. At Reports / Operating Summaries / Select Date from List, a new column was added called, Number of Transactions.
9. Updated the help file.

Cash Advance Pro 4.90 — 7-17-07
Note: Updates Version 4.00 or higher to 4.90.
Update after processing End of Day before the first transaction of the next day of business. Always backup before updating. This update changes the structure of several files. Version 4.90 is not compatible with older files, so if you have multiple locations or multiple client programs which connect to each other’s database, plan to upgrade them all at the same time. If you customize your reports, you should back them up before updating. This update will overwrite all of the standard reports. It will not change your contract but it will change your receipt templates.

1. Fixed a problem with updating the Work Log when the entry contains an apostrophe or single quote mark.
2. Changed the way receipts show a balance. Previously, reprints of the receipt at a later date were showing the balance as of the new date when the receipt was being printed. This has been changed so that a reprint will show the balance of a loan at the time the original receipt was printed.
3. Changed Satisfy transaction to show a previous balance based upon the posting date entered rather than the actual system date.
4. Changed Paydown transaction so that the receipt would show a previous balance that includes any additional late fees entered at the time of the transaction.
5. Fixed a problem with Options under End of Day Summary Reports where only the first report was printing.
6. Changed Transaction reports and Bad Check Reports to match customers based upon both the store number and the customer number of the customer tied to the transaction. This facilitates working with merged databases where different customers have the same customer number.
7. Changed the way Bad Checks are added. Now the customer is queried by name and the transaction of interest is highlighted or double clicked. This facilitates working with merged databases and it also helps set proper default values for cashed checks that have been returned.
8. Updated EOD Summary with transaction detail subreport to have other charges reflected on daily deposit cash flow analysis.
9. Added two new default settings for loans other than payday loans. One allows specifying different percentages of principal to pay down on renewals and the other allows specifying different renewal numbers on which to apply it.
10. Changed Cash Check transaction so that the Store Check Number will not be incremented if the distribution was made in cash.
11. Changed the way Paydowns set the default next due date. Instead of defaulting from one pay period beyond the posting date, now the system will default to one pay period beyond the paid to date. Furthermore, it will recalculate an estimated next due date appropriate for the amount of payment entered. It also will keep loans on a monthly pay period to maintain their due date to be due on the same day of every month.
12. Added ability to reset the month to date and year to date figures on the most recent operating summary for the highest security level of 99.
13. Modified the Operating Summary to show statistics for loans which are in a closed status such as repossession, bankruptcy, difficult, etc.
14. Added ability to assess three new charges for Title loans: Storage fees, Preparation Fees, and Repair Fees.
15. Added ability to perform Teletrack Queries.
16. Changed the way APR is calculated for Installment Loans. This is probably one of the most significant changes to Cash Advance Pro since it started supporting installment loans. Completely new mathematical methods are used now to estimate the regular payment amount for specified loan terms. The Adjust APR button also has been enhanced to find better solutions for making all monthly payments equal. The methods used now comply much more closely with the U.S. Treasury department’s APRWin calculator which is used by auditors in the State of Missouri. Read the help topic APR Calculation for more information.
17. Added the ability to specify a Semi-Monthly pay period.
18. Added the ability to view the Amortization Schedule when specifying the loan parameters on the New Loan screen.
19. Added a new transaction for selling collateral attached with a loan.
20. Added ability to edit additional loan fields after a loan has been created, such as vehicle information, next letter dates, etc.

22. Added several new forms and letters examples.
23. Added several transaction reports to the Operating Summary area, such as Petty Cash, Misc. Receipts, and Non-Cash Credit Detail.
24. Added new Adjusted Fees Report to the transaction report area.
25. Added new Sold Collateral Report to the transaction report area.
26. Changed Security Level for changing the drawer number from trusted level 50 to a level defined in Profile Settings, ID #124.
27. Added right click menus to the View Loans screen.
28. Added ability for high security level to delete work events.
29. Added ability to print the work log and memo fields to Customer Loans & Transactions report under Forms and Letters area.
30. Updated Help File

Cash Advance Pro 4.86 — 4-13-07
Note: Updates Version 4.0 or higher to 4.86.
Update after processing End of Day before the first transaction of the next day of business. This update changes the structure of several files. Version 4.86 is not compatible with older files, so if you have multiple locations or multiple client programs which connect to each other’s database, plan to upgrade them all at the same time. If you customize your reports, you should back them up before updating. This update will overwrite all of the standard reports. It will not change your contract or receipt templates.

1. Added ability to manage a work history log which automatically date stamps entries made by collectors and account managers. This work log is shown and accessed on the View Loans screen below the customer transactions.
2. Added an audit trail for cash drawer maintenance so that a transaction record of type 201 is posted when a drawer is created or recreated.
3. Fixed a problem with paydown transactions not updating the cash drawer properly under certain situations when money was being posted to court fees and other charges.
4. Modified the End of Day Summary to show other charges in the daily cash flow.
5. Fixed a problem caused by new feature #13 added in 4.85. If an Amount Tendered was not entered, the Cash Drawer was not updating correctly for payments other than cash.
6. Fixed a problem with Non-Cash Credits. In certain situations involving both non-cash credit and payment toward principal in the same transction, the Non-Cash Credit was being considered as already applied toward moving the paid to date. The net effect of this was that the new balance due was not being decreased by the non-cash credit being given. This is now fixed to work correctly.
7. Updated Help File.

13. Changed the way Paydown Loan, Satisfy Loan, and Renew Loan transactions handle check, money order, and EFT/ACH transactions that involve an amount tendered more than the amount applied to the loan. Now the software will calculate a change due and assume that cash is given back for the overage amount of the instrument.
14. Fixed numerous issues with the Satisfy Loan Transaction involving the amount tendered.
15. Modified the receipts to show more detail concerning a payment.
16. Added a new contract for Missouri’s 510 installment loans.

This will help when users forget to close the end of day from the night before.

Cash Advance Pro 4.84 — 9-15-06
Note: Updates Version 4.0 or higher to 4.84.

This update changes the structure of several files. Version 4.84 is not compatible with older files, so if you have multiple locations or multiple client programs which connect to each other’s database, plan to upgrade them all at the same time. If you customize your reports, you should back them up before updating. This update will overwrite all of the standard reports. It will not change your contract or receipt templates.

** Please note that if you are using 4.83, we highly recommend you update to 4.84 or newer right away. The 4.84 update fixes several issues reported in version 4.83, especially with bad check transactions.

2. Several of the standard reports have been modified in various ways, such as adding drawer numbers to various transaction reports, such as miscellaneous receipt and petty cash. The loans outstanding by name has been modified for showing payment amounts for installment loans.
3. Added the ability to filter loan reports by paycheck periods.
4. Changed the Loans Outstanding report with two lines to sort by bank name. It is now called, “Loans Outstanding by Bank Name.”
5. Added ability to print checks automatically for the lien fees collected on title loans.
6. Added the non-cash credit amount to the receipt template.
7. Added the ability to print checks when doing a petty cash transaction.
8. Modified the transaction report called “Store Checks Written” to include checks printed at petty cash, check cashing, and lien checks.
9. Added a new transaction report called “Check Register” which show all checks written that would make draws on the bank account. It also will list all bank deposits. This report is meant to assist with reconciling a bank account with transactions processed through Cash Advance Pro.
10. Added a transaction report called Non-Cash Adjustments.
11. Added additional payment types to Miscellaneous Receipts and Petty Cash Withdrawals.
12. Changed the Bank Deposit transaction to record a By Store Number field.
13. Fixed a problem introduced by version 4.83 that would cause some data grids not to track the data properly, which in some situations would make the software unable to print from forms and letters.
14. Fixed a problem introduced with version 4.83 that in some situations would cause problems posting a bad check transaction.
15. Fixed a problem where the cashed check statement would not print on a newly installed system if there were not any loans yet entered into the system.
16. Revamped the way bad checks update loan records so that multiple bad checks may be entered and they properly update the accumulated total of bad checks on the loan record.
17. Enabled bad checks entered for New, Renewed, or Paydown loans not to inflate the balance on the loan record. Only satisfied and other closed loans will have bad check debt reflected on the loan record balance now.
18. Fixed a problem where users deleted the finance fees on Bad Check entries. This resulted in making a null entry for the field, which caused totals on reports using this field also to be null. Now the system will automatically insert a zero when the user deletes the entry.
19. Added a status field to transaction reports that included all bad checks.
20. Added ability to streamline updates for customers managing several databases. An option has been added to the File / Change Database screen which allows saving the alias list. Updates will now read this saved list and process data located in all the alias directories. This makes updates for multiple databases more automatic.
21. Changed the Charge-Off or Void Loan transaction to now be Change Loan Status. Loans may now be moved into a legal status using this transaction. Furthermore, several other statuses have been added, such as Repossession, Bankruptcy, and Difficult. Each of these are closed loan statuses. In addition, a new status called “Hold” has been added for non-performing loans that the user might want to make active again at a later date. A loan on hold allows the loan to keep accruing interest. However, the hold status causes the loan to be moved out of the loan analysis on the operating summary into a special category called On Hold. The new operating summary shows this On Hold status right above “Active Bad Checks” toward the bottom of the loan analysis on page 1. Loans put on hold may be moved at a later date back to their previous status of New, Renewed, or Paydown.
22. Added the ability to enter a checking account balance on the Store Information screen. During End of Day, Cash Advance Pro will adjust this balance based upon the transactions it processes during End of Day.
23. Added the ability to enter a posting date for paydown transactions.
24. Added the ability to print an Amortization Schedule from the Forms and Letters area.
25. Updated the Help File.

Cash Advance Pro 3.4 8-19-02
Note: Version 3.0 through 3.3 systems may be updated directly to version 3.4.

Version 3.4 represents a significant update over previous ones, adding numerous end user reporting enhancements and incorporating changes to comply with new Missouri law going into effect on August 28, 2002. The ability to support fee based cashing of checks also has been added.

1. Added an option to cash checks for a fee. This option records a transaction for each check cashed and ties them to the customer file for a clear transaction history on the customer. Fees collected for cashing checks are consolidated on the operating summary with the paydown month-to-date and year-to-date revenues.
2. Added a Custom Report option whereby unlimited reports may be customized, saved, and organized by the end user.
3. Changed the Bad Check option to support Transaction Reversals and to allow better tracking for reports. Bad Checks now records one of three transaction types: Bad Chk Entered, Bad Chk Pmt, and Bad Chk Modified. Bad Checks also now tie into the loan records with which they are associated and they calculate into the balance showing on that loan.
4. Added numerous reports to the Transaction Reports menu, including: Miscellaneous Receipts Petty Cash reports subtotaled by Reason Code, Bank Deposit report, 3 Bad Check reports, Cashed Checks report, and Transactions by Transaction Type report.
5. Added numerous features to support new Missouri laws going into effect on August 28, 2002. These include options to notify the user when a specified number of renewals has taken place, and a notification of when all fees are going to exceed a specified percent of the original loan amount. The system will automatically recalculate fees correctly to comply with the new law, and it will notify the user when it has done so. Many other requirements of the new law have already been part of Cash Advance Pro’s capability and require only a change to the profile settings. A new version of the Missouri Contract has been created and is available.
6. Added a new Interest Method called Modified Interest Method, which acts like simple interest up to the term of the loan, then caps the interest amount charged to the interest amount established on the loan.
7. Added ability for those using Contract Interest Method to recalculate interest based upon the dates entered on renewals and satisfied loans. This ability is user selectable by a clicking a check box called “Recalc Interest.”
8. Changed operating summary to summarize information about bad checks, such as the number and amount of active bad checks, and the today, month-to-date, and year-to-date figures for bad checks entered and bad check payments.
9. Added “read memo” and “read note” alerts to the Edit / Customer option to make note alerts more visible when editing customer information.
10. Modified paydown and charge-off options to use the calculated balance due rather than the contract balance.
11. Added option to Profile Settings that allows forcing simple interest type calculations on systems setup to use the contract interest method when the age of the loan is less than a specified number. For example, Louisiana requires allowing a refund of some of the interest within the first five days. This option allows automatic compliance with that law.
12. Added label to Operating Summary menu to show how many reports are available.
13. Added a user friendly feature to have the login dialog automatically highlight the last user who logged in and set the focus for receiving a password entry. This facilitates entering the password immediately rather than clicking on a name first. If the program is exited, the user who last closed out the End of Day is highlighted by default when the login dialog first appears.
14. Added a Legal Status for loans to distinguish loans with a legal judgment from other loans.
15. Added a Profile Setting to skip recalculating the interest amount due when the term is changed.
16. Added ability to have a minimum loan fee assessment.
17. Added ability to calculate the default loan fee as a daily percentage multiplied by the loan amount and term of the contract.
18. Added a database timeout specification to the profile settings to allow older, slower computers to complete long reports.
19. Updated help file and changed its name to Cap.hlp, and also moved it out of the help folder and into the folder Cash Advance Pro.

Cash Advance Pro 3.3 6-1-02
Note: Version 3.0 systems may be updated directly to version 3.3.

Version 3.3 represents various minor interim fixes done primarily for new customers. Not all fixes and changes are listed here. After 3.3 was released on June 1, 2002, numerous interim fixes were released until July 8, 2002.

Please note change number 2 if you use the Contract Type Interest Method. This update will necessitate you making changes to the Interest Rates recorded in the profile settings.

1. Made numerous changes to accommodate foreign currency, such as guilders used in the Netherlands.
2. Changed the way the interest method is entered for Contract Interest Method. The interest rate entered should be the daily interest percent. This facilitates contract interest calculations for differing terms. The interest rate may be calculated as: IntRate=(IntAmt/LoanAmt/LoanTerm)*100. For example, if you charge $15 for $100 loaned for 14 days, then the Interest Rate is calculated as ($15/$100/14)*100 = 1.0714285.
3. Help file has been updated.
